The Private Well Class is designed to help a homeowner better understand how to properly care for their water well, to ensure their water remains safe to drink. By understanding the basic science of water wells and following best practices to maintain and protect your water supply, this class will provide the tools you need to ensure a safe water supply and help extend the life of your well.
The Private Well Class is a collaboration between the Rural Community Assistance Partnership and the University of Illinois, through the Illinois State Water Survey and the Illinois Water Resources Center, and funded by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Environmental health professionals can now receive up to 10 Continuing Education (CE) Credits for taking The Private Well Class through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA). Visit the NEHA Offers Accredited Private Well Class for Sanitarians page for more details.
